Cigna is seeking a dedicated Call Center Customer Service Representative to join our US Medical team and support members during critical points of their healthcare journey. As a Call Center Customer Service Representative, you’ll answer inbound calls, provide accurate guidance on claims, benefits, and eligibility, and help ensure a positive experience for our members. This remote role allows you to work from home while delivering empathetic, solution-oriented service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.


Role Overview: Call Center Customer Service Representative

As a Call Center Customer Service Representative, you are the first point of contact for members with questions about medical claims, benefits, or prior authorizations. You’ll be responsible for providing accurate, timely information while remaining customer-focused and maintaining a professional demeanor.


Key Responsibilities for a Call Center Customer Service Representative

  • Handle an average of 40+ inbound calls daily from members with questions about medical claims, eligibility, and prior authorization

  • Navigate multiple applications across several screens while taking calls back-to-back

  • Resolve member complaints using independent problem-solving skills, striving for one-call resolution

  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor while managing challenging situations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve issues and improve the overall customer experience

  • Meet or exceed call center metrics, including accuracy, resolution time, and customer satisfaction


Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years of customer service experience

  • Dedicated, distraction-free workspace for remote work

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Strong organization, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to stay calm, professional, and helpful in difficult situations

  • Reliable cable broadband or fiber optic internet (minimum 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload)
