About the Role:

Amazon One Medical is transforming the primary care experience—and we’re looking for empathetic, customer-obsessed professionals to support our patients. As a Centralized Support Specialist II – Billing Specialist, you’ll manage inbound billing inquiries, resolve payment and insurance issues, and support patients with clarity and compassion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming patient calls/messages and resolve inquiries related to billing, insurance, authorizations, and payment plans

  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, claim rejections, and insurance denials

  • Educate patients and internal teams about healthcare billing and coverage

  • Collaborate with providers and operations staff to complete urgent billing-related tasks

  • Use systems such as 1Life (EHR), RingCentral, Slack, Zoom, and G-Suite to support workflows

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy laws

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Help patients understand EOBs, charges, co-pays, and deductibles

  • Review patient accounts, process payments, set up payment plans

  • Contact insurance companies to verify claim status and patient benefits

  • Track and resolve outstanding or escalated billing issues

  • Participate in team huddles, feedback sessions, and process improvements

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of call center customer service experience

  • 1+ year of experience in medical billing, insurance claims, or healthcare revenue cycle

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with EHR/CRM systems

  • Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Spanish speaking strongly preferred

  • Ability to work flexible shifts

  • Strong typing skills (45+ WPM with accuracy)

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
