As an Interventional Radiology Coder, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding for complex radiology procedures, directly impacting patient care and revenue cycle integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes for interventional radiology services such as angiography, embolization, thrombectomy, venography, and other procedures.

  • Code Acute Care Facility, ED, Observation, and Same Day Surgery encounters.

  • Review clinical documentation for charge capture accuracy and compliance.

  • Collaborate with providers and revenue cycle teams to resolve coding edits, denials, and documentation queries.

  • Maintain compliance with AAPC and AHIMA ethical coding standards.

  • Stay current with coding regulations, payer rules, and industry updates.

  • Participate in coding meetings, maintain records of coded charts, and support performance goals in quality and productivity.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher).

  • Active AHIMA or AAPC certification (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-A).

  • 2+ years of experience in Interventional Radiology coding.

  • 2+ years of outpatient facility coding experience.

  • Proficiency with ICD-10 and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with encoder systems (eCAC, 3M, EPIC).

  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, reporting, and saving).

Work Environment

  • 100% remote position (telecommuting).
