Aventiv Technologies is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Penetration Tester Analyst to join our fully remote team. As a Cybersecurity Penetration Tester Analyst, you will assist in security assessments of mobile and web applications, networks, and infrastructures. Cybersecurity Penetration Tester Analyst Responsibilities

As a Cybersecurity Penetration Tester Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in penetration testing and vulnerability assessments under senior team guidance.

  • Conduct security testing on applications, operating systems, networks, and mobile devices.

  • Participate in reconnaissance, scanning, exploitation, and reporting during security projects.

  • Document findings and support the preparation of detailed security assessment reports.

  • Research new threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques to enhance team knowledge.

  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other security professionals to remediate vulnerabilities.

  • Support automation of testing tasks and workflows.

  • Continuously develop your skills through training, certifications, and hands-on learning.


Required Skills and Qualifications for Cybersecurity Penetration Tester Analyst

To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 0–2 years of experience in penetration testing, vulnerability management, or incident response.

  • Hands-on experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, or capture-the-flag (CTF) competitions.

  • Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security principles.

  • Familiarity with security tools like Nmap, Burp Suite, Metasploit, or Wireshark is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.

  • Industry certifications (or in-progress) such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or OSCP.


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience working on a cybersecurity penetration testing team.

  • Advanced certifications such as OSCP, CPTS, GPEN, eMAPT, CISSP, eCPPT, eWPT, or CEH.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
