Role Overview:
TMC Technologies is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) mission. You will help develop and maintain tactical cybersecurity solutions for Naval Weapons Systems and Combat Systems, including AEGIS, Aegis BMD, and FMS programs. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating cybersecurity tools, ensuring compliance with DoN and NAVSEA standards, and safeguarding mission-critical Navy tactical applications.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop cybersecurity tools and automation scripts using Python

Provide engineering support for integrating cybersecurity solutions into Navy tactical configurations and applications

Conduct vulnerability research, malware analysis, penetration testing, and reverse engineering for network operations

Install, configure, and integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) cybersecurity tools; perform proof-of-concept testing and evaluations

Research, derive, and document cybersecurity requirements in accordance with DoN instructions (8500.1, NAVSEA 9400.2, PEO IWS 5239.1)

Map and evaluate cybersecurity controls against CNSSI 1253, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-125B, and other specifications

Create and manage Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms); monitor task progress and define mitigation strategies
Qualifications:

US Citizenship and eligibility for a SECRET clearance

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Proficiency in Python development

Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts for vulnerability mitigation and exploitation prevention

Familiarity with Virtual Machine (VM) architecture (preferred)

Prior Department of Defense (DoD) experience (strongly preferred)
