About the Role:
UPMC is seeking a full-time Data Administrator to support the Pediatric Neonatology NICU at Children’s Hospital. This clinical data entry role focuses on reviewing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) to find and enter critical patient data, supporting quality improvement initiatives for all patients and families. After orientation, this role offers the option to work from home.
Responsibilities:

Interface NICU databases with Access and other database software.

Design and program database applications for data entry, retrieval, analysis, and clinical quality assessment.

Download, merge, and prepare data files for statistical analysis.

Create user-friendly graphical interfaces for data entry and report generation.

Provide technical support and training for database users.
-
Perform data queries and preliminary statistical analyses.

Maintain and distribute neonatal data, including periodic uploads to national databases (VON).

Conduct detailed medical chart reviews, ensuring diagnostic accuracy and completeness.

Follow mandatory reporting procedures for incidents affecting patient care.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or related field.

Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a business/office setting with extensive database design, entry, and retrieval experience.

Knowledge of database software programming for PC applications.

Ability to independently learn new software.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
