About the Role
OSIG is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to transform raw data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making and policy development. In this role, you will collaborate with business units and external stakeholders to address data challenges, design visualization solutions, and apply advanced analytics to uncover trends and patterns that drive actionable results.You will oversee data collection, organization, and preparation for analysis; conduct statistical modeling; and present findings in a clear, concise format tailored to diverse audiences. This position requires strong technical skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to understand data needs and develop tailored solutions.

  • Determine data requirements, characteristics, and values for analysis.

  • Organize, clean, and prepare small to large multi-structured datasets for analytics.

  • Apply statistical techniques and advanced analytics to identify trends, relationships, and insights.

  • Create impactful data visualizations and reports to support business decisions and inform policy.

  • Manage multiple analytics projects, prioritizing deadlines and stakeholder needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.

  • Proven ability to execute data analytics projects that produce actionable insights.

  • Proficiency in organizing, transforming, and analyzing diverse datasets.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Knowledge of operating systems, query languages, systems analysis, and development methodologies.

  • Experience working with IT databases and developing queries.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to different audiences.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience with statistical packages, predictive modeling, and trend forecasting.

  • Skilled in data visualization software, database systems, and business intelligence tools.

Compensation & Work Schedule

  • Salary range: $110,000 – $120,000 (Pay Band 6).

  • Hybrid schedule: 1 telework day per week; remaining workdays onsite at the OSIG office.

  • Location: Office of the State Inspector General, 101 North 14th Street, Richmond, VA 23219.
