Key Responsibilities of the Data Manager

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of data analysts managing regulatory data calls.

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and career growth opportunities for team members.

  • Oversee workload distribution and ensure effective project prioritization.

Regulatory Compliance and Data Quality

  • Manage end-to-end regulatory data call processes, including NAIC submissions.

  • Deliver accurate, timely responses to state and federal agencies.

  • Implement and enforce data quality standards and controls.

  • Collaborate with Legal, Underwriting, Actuarial, and Claims to collect and validate data.

Strategic Analysis and Process Innovation

  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.

  • Partner with technology teams to align data solutions with enterprise architecture.

  • Support data-driven strategies to strengthen Allstate’s competitive edge.

Stakeholder and Regulatory Relationships

  • Serve as the main liaison with regulators, industry groups, and internal partners.

  • Clearly communicate updates to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships to support business intelligence needs.


Skills and Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 7+ years in the insurance industry, preferably Property & Casualty.

  • 3+ years of team leadership or management experience.

  • Strong knowledge of NAIC reporting standards and state regulatory compliance.

  • Expertise in SQL, data analysis, and database management.

  • Project management and organizational excellence.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in Python or R.

  • Knowledge of actuarial concepts and insurance data standards.

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies.
