Key Responsibilities of a Data Engineer

Develop and maintain Spark scripts for data management, validation, and integration.

Write and optimize SQL queries to improve performance and accuracy.

Conduct data analysis to identify issues and ensure data quality.

Collaborate with engineering, DBA, and cloud operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Build and maintain data pipelines for large-scale processing.

Ensure compliance with data security and integrity standards.

Support after-hours or weekend tasks as required.

Document processes and track productivity using internal systems.
What Makes a Successful Data Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.

6+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies (Spark, S3, Kafka, Hadoop, etc.).

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms like Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Expertise in RDBMS and SQL/PL-SQL with data integration/ETL tools.

Experience in healthcare data analysis (claims, pharmacy, or enrollment data preferred).

Familiarity with Snowflake, Airflow, and Databricks Workflows is a plus.

Certifications in Databricks/AWS are highly desirable.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
