Redhorse is seeking a Data Engineer to support the U.S. National Defense Strategy. In this role, you will translate complex business requirements into actionable data solutions, directly contributing to the modernization of defense systems.
You’ll work with cutting-edge tools like Databricks, Python, and SQL to build data pipelines, dashboards, and insights that shape critical national security strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Development & Analysis

Collaborate with government customers to gather and clarify data requirements.

Identify gaps and propose effective technical solutions.

Translate business needs into technical specifications and interface designs.

Pipeline & Platform Development

Design and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Databricks.

Maintain and improve existing Python and SQL codebases.

Debug and resolve defects in data processing pipelines.

Data Visualization & UX
-
Develop dashboards and reports that clearly communicate insights.

Use best practices to ensure accessibility for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Design user-friendly interfaces to deliver a seamless data experience.

Collaboration & Documentation

Partner with fellow engineers, product teams, and government stakeholders.

Document data models, design changes, and technical workflows.

Present findings effectively across diverse audiences.

Required Experience & Clearance
-
U.S. Citizen with active Secret government clearance.

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer.

Strong skills in Python (modular code structure).

Proven ability to build dashboards and reports with visualization tools.

Experience with Databricks for data transformation.

Proficiency in SQL writing and optimization.
Desired Skills

Experience with Palantir Foundry.

Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming patterns.

Familiarity with PySpark or other big data frameworks.

Hands-on experience with BI tools like Qlik, Power BI, or Tableau.

Front-end development experience with React.
