We are seeking a Data Engineer / Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions and AI initiatives that power the business of insurance.
Position Overview
In this role, you’ll work alongside Principal Data Architects, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to develop and maintain cloud-based data architecture. You’ll focus on leveraging BigQuery, SQL, Python, and GCP technologies to improve accessibility, reliability, and performance of large-scale datasets.
Key Responsibilities

Develop BigQuery procedures, functions, and database objects using expert SQL knowledge.

Build and optimize scalable data models within our data lake.

Manage partitioning, clustering, and data storage strategies for performance and reliability.

Implement features and enhancements in BigQuery to support business goals.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business and governance requirements.

Ensure data quality through validation and error-handling mechanisms.

Improve end-to-end data management processes from ingestion to reporting.

Create documentation and support design discussions.

Stay current with advancements in data engineering and big data technologies.
Additional Senior-Level Responsibilities:

Provide feedback through code reviews and mentorship.

Assess risks and opportunities to inform technical decisions.

Share advanced expertise in data infrastructure and unstructured data management.

Improve internal processes and documentation to drive scalable, secure solutions.
Qualifications
For Data Engineer:

3+ years of experience building and maintaining cloud-based data solutions.

Proficiency in SQL and Python.

Knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum) and tools like Jira/Confluence.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, or equivalent experience.
For Senior Data Engineer:

8+ years of experience in cloud-based data engineering.

Proven expertise with BigQuery and cloud data warehouses.

Advanced knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and architecture.

Experience with GCP data services and optimizing BigQuery environments.

Excellent communication and executive collaboration skills.

Salary range in the U.S.: $60,000 – $160,000, based on skills, experience, and responsibilities.
