Key Responsibilities of the Data Protection & Security Co-ordinator (Apprenticeship)

Data Protection and Security Tasks You’ll Manage:

  • Coordinate responses to Freedom of Information requests and Subject Access Requests.

  • Process personal data disclosures for patients, staff, and the public while adhering to legal requirements.

  • Investigate and manage data breaches, helping the Trust to improve its data security practices.

  • Assist in maintaining the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit.

Learning and Development in the Data Protection & Security Co-ordinator (Apprenticeship)

What You’ll Learn and Experience:

  • Gain hands-on experience with data protection legislation, including the Freedom of Information Act.

  • Understand and manage Subject Access Requests and disclosures.

  • Learn about the principles of the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) triad in data management.

  • Receive on-the-job training and monthly 1:1 support from your supervisor.

  • Complete a 19-month Level 4 apprenticeship with a comprehensive induction program.
