Data Scientist

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team and play a key role in advancing our data science and AI initiatives. This position requires hands-on expertise in Azure Machine Learning, SQL, and a working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Vertex AI. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is also essential.

Reporting to the Data Solutions IT Manager, the Data Scientist will support and optimize existing Azure ML use cases, implement self-service analytics tools, and lead innovation through advanced analytics, Generative AI, and Generative BI. The ideal candidate will have a passion for applying data science to solve complex business problems and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support Existing Use Cases: Maintain, optimize, and enhance machine learning models and workflows deployed on Azure ML.

• Drive Self-Service Enablement: Promote and implement self-service data science tools to empower business users with accessible, actionable insights.

• Foster Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and apply advanced analytics and AI solutions that drive value and innovation.

• Lead Generative AI & BI Projects: Champion the development and deployment of Generative AI models and Generative BI tools to explore emerging technologies and real-world applications.

• Cloud Ecosystem Integration: Ensure seamless interoperability and performance of data science solutions across Azure ML, GCP, and Vertex AI.

• Training & Enablement: Deliver workshops and training sessions to elevate data literacy and expand the organization’s understanding of AI and data science concepts.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field.

• Proven success in developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.

• Proficient in Azure ML and SQL.

• Working knowledge of Python.

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Vertex AI is highly desirable.

• Experience in multi-cloud environments is a plus.

• Understanding of MLOps practices and tools for scalable machine learning.

• Strong knowledge of data governance and security, especially in multi-cloud settings.

• Familiarity with Generative AI frameworks and their practical business applications.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

• Certifications in Azure, GCP, or other cloud platforms are a plus.

COLLABORATION & STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
This role will work closely with internal data teams and collaborate with stakeholders across the Manitou Group, regardless of geographic location.

COMPENSATION

• Base salary range: $64,000 – $88,000 per year, plus eligibility for a quarterly performance-based bonus.

• Final compensation is based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

LOCATION & TRAVEL

• This role is based in West Bend, WI.

• Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
