About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll take ownership of key analytical projects from concept to execution. You’ll translate ambiguous business challenges into structured data problems, design and run statistical models, and present findings to senior executives. This role offers the opportunity to influence Zillow’s roadmap, build automation using AI, and lead best practice initiatives across the organization—all while working remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and communicate strategic insights using advanced data storytelling for diverse audiences, including the executive team.

Lead cross-functional analyses that uncover market trends and product opportunities.

Conduct deep statistical studies, causal inference modeling, and data segmentation to identify patterns and behaviors.

Integrate data from multiple sources to create holistic customer insights.

Use AI and automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) to accelerate data analysis and improve productivity.

Mentor junior data scientists by reviewing code, establishing frameworks, and promoting reproducibility and documentation standards.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field.

5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in a consumer-facing environment.

Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R, with experience in cloud data platforms like AWS or Databricks.

Strong expertise in statistical analysis, causal inference, and metric design.

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.

Experience working on cross-functional teams and presenting to senior leadership.

Hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Genie, or Gemini to improve efficiency and insight generation.
Preferred Qualifications

Compensation & Benefits
This is a fully remote position open to qualified candidates in the U.S.

Salary range: $141,200 – $237,400 annually (depending on location and experience).
