We are seeking a Data Scientist, AI Analytics, Strategy & Activation to support Lundbeck US’s AI strategy. This role is fully remote (open to candidates across the United States) with travel to our Deerfield, IL office as needed.
Essential Functions

Design, train, test, and deploy AI/ML models to optimize processes using techniques such as neural networks, reinforcement learning, and unsupervised learning.

Conduct data exploration, feature engineering, and fine-tune models for production environments.

Monitor and improve deployed models to meet evolving business needs.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions and provide guidance to technical staff or vendors.

Stay current with AI/ML research to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

Contribute to Lundbeck’s AI strategy to align with portfolio priorities and business goals.

Document methodologies, models, and best practices for team-wide knowledge sharing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-driven business solutions.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related field.

4+ years of experience developing, deploying, and optimizing AI/ML models in commercial, marketing, or sales contexts.

Proficiency in predictive modeling, clustering, regression, neural networks, reinforcement learning, and Bayesian methods.

Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Java.

Hands-on experience with NLP, deep learning, and LLMs.

Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps for deployment.

Familiarity with Git/version control.

Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to translate data into business insights.
Preferred Qualifications

Project or team leadership experience.

Pharmaceutical or biotech industry background.

Familiarity with pharmaceutical datasets (claims, EHR, demand, first-party patient data).

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Excellent communication skills, especially for non-technical stakeholders.

Knowledge of regulatory standards (GxP, ALCOA+).

Preference for candidates based in Deerfield, IL.
Travel

Up to 20% domestic travel; international travel may be required.

Additional travel required if working remotely to meet business needs at the Deerfield, IL office.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $150,000 – $175,000

Eligible for 15% bonus target + long-term incentive plan
