Job Description
Broadcom is seeking a skilled and innovative Data Scientist/Engineer to support the design and development of a cutting-edge Network Operations AI Assistant. This expert system will leverage Generative AI, traditional machine learning, and advanced statistical analysis to drive intelligent network operations. This role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to deliver scalable, AI-powered solutions.
Key Responsibilities

AI/ML Model Development: Design, build, and optimize machine learning models and workflows using tools such as Azure ML, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.

Statistical Modeling: Apply statistical techniques to time series, regression, classification, clustering, and hypothesis testing to uncover actionable insights.

Generative AI Solutions: Integrate and deploy large language models (LLMs), diffusion models, and other GenAI tools within applications and data pipelines.

Prompt Engineering: Craft, test, and refine prompts to enhance the accuracy and relevance of GenAI outputs.

Data Wrangling & Feature Engineering: Clean, transform, and prepare both structured and unstructured data for traditional and generative AI models.

Visualization & Communication: Develop clear, compelling visualizations and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Software Engineering: Build APIs, utilize version control systems like Git, and ensure scalable, maintainable software design.

Cross-Cloud Integration: Implement data science solutions across multiple cloud platforms including Azure, GCP, and specifically Vertex AI.
Required Skills & Experience
Machine Learning & Statistical Analysis

Supervised learning (regression, classification), unsupervised learning (clustering, dimensionality reduction)

Deep learning (CNNs, RNNs) and evaluation metrics

Time series, hypothesis testing, Bayesian analysis
Programming & Data Manipulation

Python (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Scikit-learn)

R (ggplot2, dplyr, tidyr)

SQL for querying large relational datasets

Knowledge of Cypher/GQL is a plus
Generative AI

Experience deploying LLMs and generative models

Prompt engineering, RAG systems, retrieval methods (BM25, dense retrieval, hybrid models)

Familiarity with Explainable AI (XAI) techniques

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field

Minimum 8 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related discipline

Certifications in Azure, GCP, or other cloud environments are a plus
Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $107,000 – $171,000 per year
