Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist III, you will lead the analysis of complex business problems using both internal and external data sources, providing valuable insights to decision-makers. Your role will involve identifying and interpreting trends and patterns in datasets to determine key influences. You will be responsible for employing strong predictive and statistical modeling skills to construct forecasts, make recommendations, and develop strategic and tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge.

You will create detailed specifications for reports and analyses based on business needs and available data. In addition, you will provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues, producing datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools.


What You Will Be Doing

Modeling & Applied Statistics

  • Develop predictive Machine Learning (ML) models using R and Python to analyze customer and competitive data, identify emerging trends, and uncover new opportunities.

  • Utilize advanced statistical modeling techniques to predict future outcomes across various scenarios.

  • Assist in building big data infrastructure, with a strong focus on ETL and Data Warehouse concepts, as well as experience with AWS cloud-based platforms.

  • Apply the Data Governance model to ensure the quality and compliance of data objects across the organization.

  • Build resilient, self-healing, and highly accurate data analytics applications.

Programming

  • Design and implement algorithms and prescriptive models, determining appropriate analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate different scenarios and predict future outcomes.

  • Apply advanced statistical techniques, including predictive models, customer profiling, segmentation analysis, and data mining, to large datasets.

  • Collaborate with business experts to build Business Intelligence (BI) tools and performance benchmarks.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to perform data analysis, define system requirements, and deploy solutions.


Qualifications

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Analytics, or Information Management (Master’s in Analytics preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in modeling, forecasting, and data analytics.

  • 2+ years of experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) or similar cloud platforms.

  • Experience with open-source AI tools preferred.

  • Strong expertise in predictive and statistical modeling.

  • Proficient in R, Python, SQL for data analysis.

  • Ability to deploy ML models into production environments.

  • Strong ability to analyze ambiguous data and present findings that drive business decisions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience mentoring junior data scientists and colleagues.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Data Science Certifications and AWS Cloud certifications.

  • Strong knowledge of ETL, Data Architecture, and Data Governance.
