Position Overview
We are seeking a Database Administrator I to join our IT team. In this role, you will manage, maintain, and optimize relational database platforms to ensure high performance, reliability, and security. You’ll play a key role in system configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and providing subject matter expertise in database technologies.
Key Responsibilities

Administer relational databases, including user management, storage management, and system configuration.

Develop and maintain database backup, restore, and maintenance procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and availability issues.

Stay up to date with new releases and functionalities, managing upgrades and change control.

Collaborate with IT Development, Network Operations, and occasionally vendors, consultants, and end-users.

Create and manage documentation, including system specifications and training manuals.

Support database-related projects, initiatives, and special assignments.
Required Qualifications

Strong understanding of relational database administration.

Proven experience with SQL programming.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery concepts.

Experience troubleshooting relational database performance.

Understanding of operating systems, storage, and networking fundamentals.

Basic knowledge of business intelligence (BI) platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent (experience considered in lieu of degree).

2+ years managing Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.

Knowledge of cloud-based relational and non-relational databases.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Ability to follow project management practices and work independently.

Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality results.

Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
Compensation
-
Salary range: $81,400 – $101,800 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
