About the Role
Alight is seeking a skilled z/OS DB2 Database Administrator to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will manage, configure, and maintain DB2 systems, applications, and program products while ensuring disaster recovery readiness. As a DB2 Database Administrator, you’ll work closely with teams to create processes, perform SQL tuning, and provide Level 2/3 support. This is a hands-on position ideal for problem-solvers passionate about database management and improving application performance.
Key Responsibilities of a z/OS DB2 Database Administrator

Design, implement, and maintain DB2 database systems.

Perform SQL coding, optimization, and tuning for high-performance applications.

Configure DB2 and plan system capacity for optimal performance.

Diagnose and troubleshoot DB2 issues across systems.

Provide Level 2/3 support for DB2 on z/OS environments.

Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Offer 24/7 support as required, including off-hours coverage.

Maintain processes and procedures for database lifecycle management.
Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience as a z/OS DB2 DBA.

Deep understanding of DB2 for z/OS functions, features, and application object management.

Experience administering DB2 Version 12 or 13.

Proficiency in REXX programming and DB2 application lifecycle management.

Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent educational experience.

US Citizenship required for federal government support roles.
