 Daycare Supervisor Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Secondary school graduation certificate (high school diploma)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a childcare or daycare setting

Work Location & Environment:

  • On-site role – Remote work is not available
  • Active, engaging, and sometimes noisy environment
  • Work setting: Childcare center, Before and After-School Programs

 Daycare Supervisor Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and implement childcare programs supporting physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, and volunteers to ensure a positive and safe environment.
  • Prepare snacks and organize classroom spaces for mealtime and rest periods.
  • Monitor children’s behavior for potential developmental or behavioral concerns and communicate findings with guardians or supervisors.
  • Ensure full compliance with licensing regulations and maintain safety protocols.
  • Attend team meetings to discuss progress and improvements.
  • Build relationships with co-workers and community service providers to support child development.
  • Plan and lead activities for school-age children in before and after-school programs.

Certifications Needed for a Daycare Supervisor

  • Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR
  • First Aid Certification
