Daycare Supervisor Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Secondary school graduation certificate (high school diploma)
- 1-2 years of experience in a childcare or daycare setting
Work Location & Environment:
- On-site role – Remote work is not available
- Active, engaging, and sometimes noisy environment
- Work setting: Childcare center, Before and After-School Programs
Daycare Supervisor Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement childcare programs supporting physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Supervise staff, trainees, and volunteers to ensure a positive and safe environment.
- Prepare snacks and organize classroom spaces for mealtime and rest periods.
- Monitor children’s behavior for potential developmental or behavioral concerns and communicate findings with guardians or supervisors.
- Ensure full compliance with licensing regulations and maintain safety protocols.
- Attend team meetings to discuss progress and improvements.
- Build relationships with co-workers and community service providers to support child development.
- Plan and lead activities for school-age children in before and after-school programs.
Certifications Needed for a Daycare Supervisor
- Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR
- First Aid Certification
