Job Summary
The Deli Service Clerk provides exceptional customer service while managing the daily operations of the deli department. This includes receiving, stocking, preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, rotating, and merchandising products such as deli meats, cheeses, salads, sandwiches, dips, gourmet items, and specialty foods. The clerk ensures Pete’s Fresh Market’s Four Pillars—Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Customer Service—are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities

Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional assistance to customers.

Guide customers in selecting deli products that meet their needs.

Operate and maintain deli equipment, including electric slicers, safely and efficiently.

Follow all sanitation requirements and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Perform product stocking, rotation, and merchandising to company standards.

Assist at the service counter with courtesy and timeliness.

Complete all assigned clean-up duties promptly.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

0–3 years of experience in a grocery store, deli, or similar retail environment (preferred)

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Retail Grocery, Hospitality, or Business (a plus)

Sanitation License (required)
Skills & Abilities

Must be 18 years or older
