What a Typical Week Looks Like at Checkr
As a DevOps Engineer at Checkr, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our cloud infrastructure is robust, scalable, and efficient. A typical week may include:

Designing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable cloud infrastructure to support our growing platform

Enhancing infrastructure operations with automation, tools, and best practices

Improving and managing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling to support rapid and reliable deployments

Participating in, or leading, infrastructure design and production readiness reviews

Troubleshooting and resolving production issues across the full technology stack

Driving infrastructure security and scalability initiatives across environments

Collaborating with development teams to promote infrastructure best practices and efficient resource usage

Building strong, collaborative relationships across engineering teams and technical leadership

Planning for the long-term growth and evolution of Checkr’s infrastructure landscape
What You’ll Bring
-
3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a related role
-
Proven ability to drive platform adoption through a product-focused, self-service mindset
-
Deep expertise with AWS, Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, Terraform, Linux, and microservice architectures
-
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, web security protocols, and HTTP/HTTPS
-
Meticulous approach to both deployment and rollback planning

A passion for mentoring and supporting the development of less experienced engineers
-
Strong customer-centric mindset and a collaborative spirit
-
Commitment to operational security and infrastructure best practices
-
Recent programming experience in languages such as Golang, Python, or Ruby
-
Experience with service mesh technologies like Istio is a plus
