DevOps Engineer Overview
Safeguard Properties is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support, enhance, and expand the infrastructure that powers our platforms and applications. This role is critical in maintaining system health, ensuring reliable monitoring and alerting, and managing seamless production deployments. As a key member of the IT team, you will work closely with development and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and manage the growth of our AWS cloud infrastructure.

    • Manage Windows OS EC2 instances, Auto Scaling Groups, SQL Server on RDS, EC2 Image Builder, and hybrid patch management using SSM.

  • Build, release, and configure production AWS environments with a focus on stability and scalability.

  • Design and automate infrastructure using Terraform and follow Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.

  • Manage application integration and security policy configuration in Okta, including workflow automation and troubleshooting.

  • Collaborate closely with technical teams to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines across all environments.

  • Support production applications across various business pipelines and proactively work to improve system uptime and reliability.

  • Conduct administrative tasks including installation, upgrades, configuration, tuning, and monitoring of Safeguard applications and third-party systems.

  • Actively stay informed on emerging AWS technologies and assess their potential for adoption.

  • Develop clear documentation for systems and processes while ensuring SLA and performance standards are met.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 7+ years of system administration experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, or cloud platforms.

  • Hands-on expertise in AWS services including EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, ECS, EKS, and SSM.

  • Strong background in Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent IaC platforms.

  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar.

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and GitHub in an AWS environment.

  • Proficient with monitoring and alerting solutions like CloudWatch, Nagios, SolarWinds, or PagerDuty.

  • Scripting skills in languages such as Go, Bash, Python, Shell, or PowerShell.

  • Strong understanding of web technologies like IIS, Apache, NGINX, Elasticsearch, and Tomcat.

  • Solid grasp of ITIL/ITSM security management practices.

  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform in high-pressure production environments.
