Position Summary

Mirantis is looking for an experienced and highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will act as a key technical consultant and trusted advisor to enterprise clients, helping them implement and optimize cloud-native solutions using Kubernetes and associated tools.

You will lead proof-of-concept deployments, deliver technical guidance, and support customer operations and development teams with best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, observability, security, and performance. This is a customer-facing position where your technical expertise and consulting skills will directly impact client success and long-term cloud transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver DevOps consulting and technical guidance to enterprise clients, helping development and operations teams adopt and succeed with cloud-native technologies.

  • Lead pilot implementations and proof-of-concept deployments of Mirantis solutions for key customer accounts.

  • Present platform architecture, strategy, and product roadmaps to senior technical stakeholders.

  • Develop best practices for containerizing applications, ensuring scalability and maintainability.

  • Design and implement solutions for CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, security, and performance within Kubernetes-based environments.

  • Extend Kubernetes through the development and maintenance of Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), operators, and webhooks.

  • Work across multiple Kubernetes distributions including open-source, AWS EKS, Azure AKS, Google GKE, Rancher, and Red Hat OpenShift.

  • Promote effective use of Lens and its extensions to simplify Kubernetes operations.

  • Act as a customer advocate, relaying feedback and insights to internal teams including Product Development, Sales, and Marketing.

  • Support partners by mentoring and training their teams, helping them develop robust service delivery capabilities.

  • Contribute to the creation of repeatable solutions including methodologies, blueprints, automation tools, white papers, and knowledge articles.


Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field (or foreign equivalent).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive post-bachelor’s experience in roles such as DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Software Developer.

Technical Proficiency (Academic or Professional Experience):

  • Kubernetes – deep understanding of container orchestration and cluster management.

  • Docker – containerization tools and practices.

  • CI/CD tools – Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.

  • Cloud platforms – AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Monitoring & Logging – Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack.

  • Version control – Git.

  • Infrastructure as Code – Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
