In this role, you’ll cut, trim, package, and display a wide variety of meats while delivering excellent customer service and following all food safety and sanitation procedures. Responsibilities
Production
-
Cut, trim, and tray meat for display per company standards

Operate meat-cutting equipment: grinder, saw, tenderizer, slicer, and knife sharpener

Weigh, wrap, and label product for sale

Rotate stock and maintain safe storage practices in the cooler and on the sales floor

Communicate to maintain freshness and quality

Maintain production lists and scan reworks

Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while using sharp tools and machinery

Cross-train and assist in other Market duties as needed
Customer Service

Deliver top-quality service by ensuring well-stocked shelves and accurate cuts and labels

Interact with customers to fulfill meat product requests with professionalism and care
Food Safety / Sanitation

Clean and sanitize cutting tools, display cases, and surfaces

Follow all department SOPs, food safety regulations, and sanitation guidelines
Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old

Completion of Meat Cutting Academy (required)

Retail meat market or food service experience (preferred)

Strong understanding of meat cutting techniques and sanitation protocols

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to manage priorities and work efficiently in a high-volume environment

Physical Requirements

Constantly: Stand, reach at waist, and grasp

Constant exposure to cold conditions

Frequently: Exposed to wet conditions, push/pull with arms, perform ulnar deviation movements

Occasionally: Walk, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, reach all levels (overhead to floor), climb stairs, perform fine motor skills

Occasionally exposed to: Loud noise, airborne particles, fumes, and caustic materials

Must maneuver safely around moving mechanical parts

Lift up to 90 lbs regularly, and manage items over 90 lbs with assistance
