Responsibilities:

What You Can Expect:

  • Prepare dialysis equipment, including alarms and treatment supplies, ensuring quality standards are met

  • Perform hemodialysis treatments in accordance with facility policies and procedures

  • Provide ongoing patient education, training, and health coaching

  • Monitor patients during dialysis, assess their condition, and communicate any changes with physicians and families

  • Administer and chart all prescribed medications

  • Follow infection control regulations as outlined by the CDC and CMS

  • Participate in patient care conferences, rounds, and chart reviews

  • Document patient education efforts as required

  • Facilitate continuity of care with local hospitals

  • Assist in maintaining medication inventory

  • Lead a small patient care team

  • Contribute to the onboarding of new staff members

  • Perform additional tasks as requested


Qualifications:

Education/Training:

  • Accredited nursing degree required

  • Dialysis experience is not required—job shadowing opportunities are available

  • DCI offers 3 months of comprehensive training, including both classroom sessions and one-on-one skills training
