Overview
The Clinical Dietitian provides comprehensive clinical nutrition care to patients across the life span. Responsibilities include assessing nutritional status, developing and monitoring individualized nutrition care plans, and documenting progress. The role also involves serving as a resource for age-specific nutrition education and mentoring dietetic students.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Dietetics from an accredited program.

Completion of an ADA (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) approved dietetic program.

Master’s degree preferred.

3–5 years of clinical experience (minimum 2 years in a clinic setting preferred).

Strong knowledge of nutrition assessment, nutrient requirements, and dietetics best practices.

Familiarity with research procedures and protocols desirable.
Skills & Abilities:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Must maintain CPR certification.
Licensure & Certification

Must have passed or be eligible to take the ADA Registration Exam.

Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in Florida.

Within 6 months of hire, candidates must:

Pass the ADA Registration Exam.

Obtain state of Florida Dietitian/Nutritionist license.

Failure to meet these requirements will result in termination of employment.
