The CU System Office of Advancement is dedicated to delivering exceptional service, strategic insight, and operational efficiency to our campus partners and the University of Colorado Foundation. Our team supports the university’s fundraising and engagement initiatives through comprehensive advancement services such as data and constituent management, business intelligence, annual and planned giving, communications, IT, budgeting, and more. We’re seeking a Digital Marketing & Engagement Administrator who will lead the design and deployment of email marketing campaigns through Salesforce and Marketing Cloud. This position plays a key role in supporting CU’s advancement goals and will contribute significantly to the upcoming integration of our Marketing Cloud environment with our donor-focused Salesforce CRM, Ascend.
What You’ll Do
Campaign Development, Execution & Optimization

Create and manage email marketing campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud tools.

Build automated journeys and workflows with Journey Builder to foster stronger relationships with alumni, donors, patients, and other constituents.

Use data-driven techniques like filtered data extensions, Automation Studio queries, and Salesforce reports to segment audiences.

Support campaign enhancements through testing strategies (e.g., A/B testing) and performance analysis.

Provide campaign reporting and data visualization, applying UI/UX best practices to ensure campaigns are both visually engaging and results-driven.

Maintain alignment with CU branding guidelines in all digital communications.
Innovation & Technical Development

Optimize the use of Salesforce and Marketing Cloud features to improve campaign performance and user engagement.

Work alongside technical teams to maintain current tools while preparing for future upgrades and AI-driven innovations.

Manage and validate data in Marketing Cloud and Salesforce to ensure integrity and consistency.

Contribute to ongoing development efforts, troubleshoot issues, and create both technical and user-facing documentation.
Salesforce Integration Support

Assist in preparing for and supporting the integration between the Marketing Cloud org (used for events and email communications) and the Ascend org (CU’s fundraising CRM).

Evaluate and refine current processes to prepare for multi-org integration.

Collaborate on technical architecture and data structure improvements to provide more robust constituent insights.

Help ensure seamless service delivery during integration by supporting multi-org architecture and engagement continuity.
Stakeholder Support & Collaboration

Partner with stakeholders across the university to align campaigns with CU’s strategic objectives.

Deliver stakeholder education and support through initiatives like “Lunch & Learn” Zoom sessions.

Provide day-to-day support to those requesting help with campaign planning and execution—often in collaboration with the University Information Services (UIS) team.

Help evolve the Digital Marketing team’s service offerings and operational direction to meet emerging needs.
Where You’ll Work
This is a remote position, requiring presence in the Denver-based CU System office four times a year during designated callback weeks. Additional in-office time may be determined by your manager.
