JOB SUMMARY:
Primary responsibility for directing, coordinating, and supervising accounting and administrative service functions for assigned market.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports the VP of Land Acquisition in the analysis of new land deals, including modeling in the Company’s feasibility tool and preparation of final proposed acquisition packages
- Responsible for development and oversight of alternative land deal structures such as land banking and joint venture agreements
- Prepares financial forecasts and coordinates with homebuilding functional leaders to prepare and review
- Facilitates workflow between National Shared Services, Area, and Home Office as necessary
- Directs and supervises accounting staff to ensure adherence to GAAP, strong internal controls, and adherence with Company policies and procedures
- Prepares and/or directs the preparation of monthly financial reports, including analyzing budgets/underwriting vs. actual results and reviewing them with management
- Heavy ad hoc reporting and projects

- Utilizes recruiting and selection tools/processes to build organizational talent

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
(degree, licenses, certifications, etc.)
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent in related field)
- Certified Public Accounting license (active or inactive) strongly preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
(work related, tools/equipment, software, etc.)
- Related Functional Experience: minimum 5 years public and/or corporate accounting experience
- Solid knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and financial reports
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under time pressure
