North Bristol NHS Trust, a leading acute teaching hospital with a turnover of £800m, is seeking a Divisional Finance Manager – Band 7 to play a vital role in supporting patient-focused healthcare. If you’re passionate about delivering outstanding patient experience, using data to drive operational improvements, and providing expert financial guidance, this opportunity could be the ideal next step in your career.
You will work closely with the Divisional Finance Business Partner and leadership teams, providing critical financial reporting, forecasting, and advisory support. The role includes managing a small management accounts team and influencing positive change through strong financial insights.
Main Responsibilities as Divisional Finance Manager – Band 7
Monthly Financial Management

Oversee monthly reporting processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Produce finance plans and forecasts aligned with divisional strategies.
Strategic Business Partnering

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing expert financial advice.

Deliver analytical support to improve resource utilization and service delivery.
Leadership and Team Management

Lead a divisional team, implementing development plans and ensuring excellent service delivery.

Support operational staff in understanding financial and non-financial data for decision-making.
What You Need to Succeed
Essential Criteria

Past finalist or CCAB qualified accountant.

Strong management accounting background.

Effective communication tailored to diverse audiences.

Experience in managing finance staff and complex data analysis.
Desirable Criteria

NHS finance experience.

Fully CCAB qualified status.
