About the Role

We are excited to announce a new opportunity to join the creative team at Theatretrain Newark as we move into a new chapter. We’re on the lookout for a passionate, enthusiastic, and reliable Drama Teacher to work with our vibrant and talented students.

This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children, enjoys creative collaboration, and is eager to make a meaningful impact through drama education. You’ll be given creative freedom in how you run your sessions, while also working closely with the team to bring productions and performances to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver fun, engaging, and inclusive drama sessions that build students’ confidence and creativity

• Support students in developing acting techniques, improvisation, and performance skills

• Assist in the creation of original scenes and drama pieces for termly showings and larger productions

• Provide backstage and rehearsal support during performance periods, including occasional extra rehearsal time

• Collaborate with other teachers and team members to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery

What We’re Looking For

 Essential:

• A current and valid DBS check

• Some form of training or background in the arts (all experience levels welcome)

• Experience teaching, assisting, or working with children or young people in any setting

 Desirable:

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A proactive and adaptable teaching approach

• Passion for using drama to build confidence and self-expression in young people
