Job Overview

Clean Harbors in Groveport, OH is seeking a Class B CDL Driver to operate light and heavy-duty trucks and work equipment at customer sites. The vehicles you may operate include vacuum trailers, roll-off trailers, van trailers, box trucks, and high-powered vacuum loaders. This role involves both driving and non-driving duties related to hazardous waste cleanup at various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety by following all safe work practices, policies, and procedures at all times.

  • Operate commercial Class B trucks and assist field laborers as part of a supportive team environment.

  • Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction during service calls.

  • Properly placard vehicles to comply with company and DOT regulations.

  • Maintain accurate daily logs, time sheets, and reports.

  • Comply with all local, state/provincial, and federal regulations governing transportation and hazardous materials.

  • Operate vehicles safely in accordance with U.S. DOT and other regulatory requirements.

  • Follow corporate environmental, health, and safety guidelines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Depending on position, be available on call for emergency response on a rotating basis.

  • May involve site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class B CDL license.

  • Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days of hire.

  • Comfortable using various mobile devices.

  • Capable of performing physical tasks as required by the job.

  • Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical exam (as applicable).

  • Compliance with OSHA Respiratory Protection Standards, including facial hair guidelines for respirator use.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous commercial driving experience.

  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements already obtained.

  • Prior hazardous materials handling experience.

  • Ability to operate a manual transmission.

  • Experience performing manual labor.
