Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Transportation Assistant / Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation services for residents and staff. The ideal candidate will operate passenger vans and other vehicles, deliver medical equipment and supplies, support safety protocols, and perform minor maintenance tasks while maintaining accurate electronic records. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to resident safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport residents, staff, and medical equipment to appointments, facilities, and destinations.

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and perform minor maintenance or repairs as needed.

  • Deliver packages, furniture, medical supplies, and mobility aids such as wheelchairs and oxygen tanks.

  • Support safety and security protocols on campus and during transportation.

  • Perform minor building and grounds maintenance as required.

  • Document trips, deliveries, maintenance, and work orders electronically.

  • Adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols, ensuring the well-being of residents.

  • Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient transportation and operational support.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with residents and staff.

  • CPR/First Aid certification within six months of hire.

  • Ability to work safely with vulnerable adults.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience driving large passenger vehicles.

  • Previous experience working with elderly or vulnerable adults.

  • Strong attention to detail in vehicle inspection and safety compliance.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a residential or healthcare environment.
