Position Summary
Under the supervision of an assigned administrator, the Family & Community Outreach Specialist will perform a variety of complex and responsible duties to support the State Preschool and General Childcare Programs. This includes managing enrollment, coordinating parent engagement activities, and assisting families through referrals to community services.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and facilitate enrollment, workshops, parent meetings, and conferences

Serve as a liaison between schools, County Office personnel, and second-language families

Provide translation and interpretation services

Maintain accurate child data records and assist with reporting

Advocate for families by connecting them with social services and support agencies
Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, Social Work, Liberal Studies, or a related field
-
Two (2) years’ experience working with children or families in educational or social service environments

Twelve (12) college units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (ECE/CD)
-
Child Development Associate Teacher Permit preferred
Additional Requirements

Valid California Class C driver’s license

Must be insurable by the agency’s liability carrier

Ability to speak, read, and write in English and a designated second language
