About the Role

We are currently seeking a part-time Education Coordinator to join our team based in Teynham. In this role, you will work closely with foster parents, schools, and multi-agency professionals across the South region to monitor and support the educational progress of children and young people in our care.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children who have experienced trauma or have complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the educational progress of all children supported by the Teynham Centre

  • Provide guidance to foster parents, staff, and educators on education-related matters

  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings to support Personal Education Plans (PEPs) and Childcare Plans

  • Develop and contribute to ISP’s education policies and procedures

  • Collaborate with virtual schools, local authorities, and educational professionals

  • Offer practical advice to schools working with ISP children

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date education case records

  • Champion the educational needs and entitlements of looked after children

  • Support safeguarding and child protection through informed decision-making

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant experience in education, preferably across all Key Stages

  • Experience working with children with complex needs (experience with Looked After Children is highly desirable)

  • Ability to assess and respond to complex educational challenges with creativity and flexibility

  • Strong knowledge of educational entitlements and support mechanisms for vulnerable children

  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills with internal and external stakeholders

  • Proven ability to maintain accurate records and contribute to strategic education planning
