About Baca:
Baca is a dedicated charity that supports young refugees (aged 16–18) through tailored services that enable them to become independent and positive contributors to society. Our work focuses on education, wellbeing, safety, and integration. We are currently looking for a passionate Education Coordinator to lead and deliver our English education programme in Cambridge.
Role Overview:
As Education Coordinator, you will lead the design, delivery, and ongoing development of Baca’s education programme for unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. This role focuses primarily on helping students reach the English language proficiency required for college enrolment and long-term academic success.
Key Responsibilities:

Creatively deliver Baca’s education programme to meet the individual needs of young people.

Drive outcomes aligned with Baca’s Theory of Change — including educational engagement, wellbeing, social integration, and personal safety.

Regularly review and improve the education curriculum in line with external college requirements.

Liaise with external education providers to support college enrolment and retention.

Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, ensuring alignment with programme goals.

Match volunteers to young people and provide ongoing support for their educational development.

Manage volunteer resources, training packs, and budgets.

Lead on monitoring and evaluating volunteer and education programme impact.

Maintain accurate documentation, including monthly and annual reports.

Person Specification:
Essential:
-
Proven teaching experience with young people
-
ESOL, TEFL, or CELTA qualification
-
Proven ability to coordinate youth services or education programmes
-
Strong project, volunteer, and time management skills
-
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
-
High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office, databases)

Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between locations
-
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)

Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed approaches, and integration challenges

Experience analysing service delivery issues and presenting solutions
