Job Overview:
The Museum is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Education Coordinator to support its educational programming. This role involves coordinating with schools, overseeing tours and classroom presentations, and assisting with internship programs (not applicable in 2025). The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and experienced in educational engagement from elementary through college level.
Key Responsibilities:
School Programming:

Maintain and update a database of school contacts (Norwalk and surrounding areas).

Initiate and follow up with teachers and principals to schedule tours (in-person and virtual).

Send invoices and minor photo release forms to schools.

Lead and support classroom and museum-based presentations.

Manage tour logistics and documentation (scanning, archiving).

Prepare monthly reports on school programming activities.
Internship Program (Not active in 2025):

Interview and schedule interns.

Manage internship project lists and daily oversight.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (preferred).

5+ years of experience working with schools/educators.

Strong communication and public speaking skills.

Experience facilitating educational activities for students (Grades 3–college).

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and database software.

Able to multitask and manage projects independently.

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse populations.

Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized.
