MetroPower is hiring Electrical Apprentices to support our growing electrical contracting and service business. This role is perfect for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience while completing a 4-year Department of Labor (DOL) Registered Apprenticeship Program. With projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, this is a great opportunity to build a lasting career.


Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a licensed Journeyman Electrician, you will:

  • Assist in electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs

  • Pull wire and cable, install devices, and read/interact with blueprints

  • Handle and stage materials, tools, and equipment

  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

  • Participate in on-the-job training (OJL)

  • Attend and complete required apprenticeship training classes

  • Follow all safety protocols and identify potential hazards

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite

  • Work at various heights using ladders, scaffolds, or lifts


Working Conditions

  • Must work in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)

  • Requires working at heights up to 90 feet

  • Must be comfortable in confined or restricted areas

  • PPE required at all times

  • Must be able to carry tools and ladders independently


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18

  • High School Diploma or GED (transcript may be required)

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Must pass a drug test, physical exam, and background check

  • Ability to distinguish wire colors (color acuity)

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physical labor

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (provide I-9 documentation)

  • DD214 (if a veteran)
