Job Summary
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Electricians, with several years of experience in the field, to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to expand their career in the electrical field while working under the guidance of experienced electricians. The Apprentice Electrician will assist in various electrical tasks on construction sites, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform tasks such as wiring, conduit installation, and fixture mounting.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to understand project specifications.
- Support low voltage system installations, including security systems and telecommunications.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems using tools like voltmeters to ensure proper functionality.
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites, willing to take assignments and report back to a Foreman.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and regulations.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and practices; familiarity with NEC.
- Experience or coursework in electrical work, equivalent to at least 2 years.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents accurately.
- Strong willingness to learn from experienced electricians and take direction effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in various conditions on construction sites, including exposure to outdoor elements.
