About Coco

At Coco, we’re revolutionizing last-mile delivery using robotic technology. We believe that the current delivery landscape falls short for local merchants, and we’re committed to building a sustainable, reliable, and frictionless delivery experience for both merchants and their customers.

Coco is a venture-backed Series A startup, operating hundreds of delivery robots that serve thousands of customers weekly across the globe. Our workplace culture is high-energy, collaborative, and fast-paced, with our headquarters located in Los Angeles, CA.

About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our growing hardware team. In this role, you will design and develop mission-critical electrical systems that power and control Coco’s robotic delivery fleet. From schematic design and component selection to prototyping, test fixture development, and production validation, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that our electrical systems are reliable, efficient, and scalable.

This is a cross-functional role requiring close collaboration with mechanical, software, and product teams. Your work will directly impact the performance, safety, and scalability of our robot fleet.

Note: This is a full-time, in-office position. We believe deeply in collaboration, energy, and innovation, and we thrive in an office-first culture that fosters fast iteration and strong team dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and validate electrical systems for robotic delivery vehicles

  • Own schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout using industry-standard tools

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, product) to integrate systems and meet design requirements

  • Develop and execute test plans for board bring-up, functional verification, and system-level validation

  • Design and build test fixtures to support development and production testing

  • Support manufacturing scale-up, focusing on reliability, cost optimization, and manufacturability

  • Troubleshoot and debug complex electrical systems across prototype and production units

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 2+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering across consumer, industrial, automotive, or robotics products

  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, Eagle)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-speed digital systems, embedded firmware integration, and SoC platforms

  • Familiarity with wireless communication protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) and RF design

  • Experience in designing for manufacturability and reliability in high-volume production environments

  • Strong debugging and testing skills, with hands-on experience in board bring-up and validation

  • Track record of driving projects from concept through production, balancing technical rigor with timeline and cost constraints

Why Join Coco?

  • Build technology that interacts with the real world, solving real problems for local businesses

  • Join a high-impact, mission-driven team in the robotics space

  • Take ownership in a cross-functional environment that values autonomy and initiative

  • Help shape the future of sustainable urban delivery
