Job Summary

The Electrician assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures. The Electrician will also diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. This position covers all Central Coast plants from Solvang to Paso Robles. A service truck will be provided for company-use only.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and troubleshoots electrical equipment and power distribution throughout the plant
  • Installs and maintains high, medium and low voltage power controls on equipment
  • Performs necessary maintenance to the equipment and machinery to repair or replace the defective parts
  • Performs adjustments and calibration procedures on various forms of process equipment
  • Interprets electrical printouts, installation instructions and work orders

Education

High school diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Industrial electrical experience or equivalent education
  • Familiarity with NFP 70E
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance troubleshooting techniques
  • Knowledge of basic AC and DC control circuits as well as terminology of tools, prints and equipment
  • Able to effectively communicate with other maintenance personnel, supervisors and management
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Electrical maintenance background at large processing facility (mine, pulp plant, steel mill etc.) preferred
  • PLC implementation and troubleshooting experience preferred
