Nucor Steel Kankakee, Inc. is currently accepting applications for the position of Electrician, which operates on a 12-hour rotating shift.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Electrician will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Acquiring the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively maintain and enhance equipment and processes within the division.

Assisting with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mill equipment, including but not limited to AC/DC drive units, PLCs, HMIs, and overhead cranes.

Supporting the maintenance and operations teams in ensuring optimal equipment performance.

Developing and promoting safe work practices for maintaining plant equipment.

Applying technical expertise to diagnose and resolve issues with plant machinery.

Contributing to the division’s objectives related to safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability to serve our customers effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

Completion of a diploma, degree, or certification program in the electrical field or at least two years of electrical maintenance experience, including PLCs, VFDs, and controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Previous experience in industrial electrical maintenance.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology or Electrical Engineering.
