Electrician – Essential Job Functions

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair operational equipment, including PLCs and motor drives, using laptops, engineering diagrams, and wiring schematics.

  • Perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance on high-speed automated ammunition manufacturing equipment.

  • Conduct electrical repairs on various equipment and lighting systems, ensuring reliability and safety.

  • Maintain and repair electrical switchgear and building power distribution systems.

  • Install conduit and electrical wiring in compliance with NEC regulations and plant standards.

Electrician – Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must meet one of the following qualifications:

    • At least 2 years of recent and relevant electrician experience OR

    • Electrical certificate or diploma from an accredited trade or vocational school OR

    • Relevant military training and experience in electronics.

  • Basic knowledge of motors, including three-phase motors, motor controls, and diagnostic tools.

  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and motor drives preferred.

  • Ability to diagnose electrical circuits, including low voltage (0-600V) and medium voltage (600-100,000V), with mandatory experience in 480V systems.

  • Valid state driver’s license required, with the ability to obtain a government-issued driver’s license.

  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed.

Location-Specific Requirements

  • Must pass a background check as an Employee Possessor, in accordance with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

  • Employment requires access to ITAR-controlled technical data, and candidates must meet eligibility criteria as per the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if applicable.

  • Must meet U.S. Army and Department of Defense security requirements for unescorted access at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.

    • Only U.S. citizens are eligible for employment at this location, as non-U.S. citizens are not permitted on-site.

  • Hiring bonus eligibility:

    • $500 payout after 90 days of successful employment.

    • Additional $500 payout after 180 days of successful employment.
