Job Overview
Sodexo is seeking a qualified Electrician to join the maintenance team at HMP Altcourse. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within the prison facility. The successful candidate will ensure all electrical work is compliant with 18th Edition standards and will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of all electrical services across the site.
Key Responsibilities

Perform repairs, testing, and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.

Conduct scheduled services and ensure full compliance with BS 7671 standards.

Maintain clear and accurate records of maintenance and repair work.

Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota for emergency repairs.

Escort and collaborate with specialist contractors as needed.

Ensure all electrical work adheres to safety codes and regulations.

Work alongside other trades and the Maintenance Team Leader to support operational efficiency.
Essential Requirements

Qualified to 18th Edition (BS 7671).

Proven experience in fault finding, electrical installation, and maintenance.

Experience in PAT testing, inspection, and commercial electrical systems.

Knowledge of HVAC, AHU, controls, and BMS systems is advantageous.
