Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to perform scheduled and unscheduled electrical maintenance, repairs, and upgrades throughout our hospital facility. This role ensures that critical electrical systems operate safely and efficiently to support patient care and hospital operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled electrical maintenance and repairs.

  • Inspect and test electrical equipment, lighting, communication, signal, and power circuits.

  • Install, remodel, and upgrade equipment, including:

    • Power distribution systems (normal & emergency)

    • Motors, pneumatic systems, and hospital beds

    • Security, fire alarm, nurse call, and TV distribution systems

    • Electrical systems for doors and lighting

  • Work with up to 480 volts; perform lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and repair plugs, cords, switches, and related components.

  • Initiate, document, and close work orders using the CMMS system.

  • Order and manage parts as needed.

  • Support emergency response and adapt to varying hospital demands.

  • Ensure compliance with NEC codes, hospital safety standards, and PHI requirements.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Studies (Required) OR

  • Vocational/Technical training in Electrical Systems (Required)

Experience:

  • 1+ years of electrician experience (Required)

  • Previous large hospital experience (Preferred)

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Codes

  • Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments

  • Proficient with PCs, email, and office equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly

  • Constant use of hands, repetitive motions, and coordination

  • Frequent verbal communication and hearing
