General Summary of Position
The Journeyman Electrician operates, inspects, and maintains mechanical and electrical equipment in assigned facilities to ensure safety and efficiency. This role proactively minimizes downtime through performance testing, troubleshooting, and scheduled maintenance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety directives.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, circuits, and equipment.

Install feeders, branch circuits, splices, and electrical devices.

Use electrical test equipment and gauges for inspections.

Install and commission Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.

Perform preventive and emergency maintenance with accurate records.
-
Respond promptly to emergencies, escalating as needed.

Review maintenance history to schedule proactive inspections.

Safely operate company vehicle for service routes.

Provide informal technical guidance and assistance to coworkers.

Complete other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

No formal supervisory responsibilities.

May coordinate tasks and provide informal training.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
-
High School Diploma or GED required.

Apprenticeship program completion preferred.
Experience
-
At least 3 years as a licensed electrician.

DDC and EMS experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications

Valid State Driver’s License in good standing.

Journeyman Electrician License as required by local code.

Strong written, verbal, organizational, and analytical skills.

Knowledge of financial terms and operating budgets.

Capable of basic financial analysis.

Strong problem-solving and intermediate analytical skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, work order systems, and PCs.
