The Elementary Special Education Teacher is a certified professional responsible for providing engaging online instruction to students with diverse learning needs. Teachers support each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) while ensuring compliance with state standards and collaborating with families and staff to promote student success.
Key Responsibilities

Provide instruction, support, and guidance in a virtual classroom setting.

Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and state-required documentation.

Facilitate and lead IEP meetings with parents and service staff.

Use provided resources to ensure appropriate accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology.

Support inclusion and student success in general education classrooms.

Collect data, track progress, and adjust instruction to meet IEP goals.

Maintain gradebooks and academic records with integrity.

Communicate regularly with parents, students, and learning coaches.

Prepare students for standardized assessments.

Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Active state teaching license in Special Education.

If licensed outside Indiana, must apply for Indiana reciprocity within 60 days.

Ability to pass required background checks.

Ability to collaborate with teachers and analyze student data.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
