The Role
The Employee Relations Manager will be a key member of Green Thumb’s centralized Employee Relations (ER) team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee Relations. This role will lead internal investigations, oversee accommodations and leave processes, and provide expert guidance on employment law matters. You’ll work cross-functionally with HR partners and business leaders to ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant employee relations practices.
Key Responsibilities

Investigations: Lead internal investigations into potential violations of Green Thumb’s Code of Ethical Business Conduct and Employee Handbook, ranging from minor concerns to complex cases involving discrimination, harassment, or retaliation.

ADA & FMLA Expertise: Independently manage the ADA interactive process, advise HR partners and business leaders, assess risks related to attendance/leave issues, and ensure compliance with employment law.

Advisory Role: Provide guidance on policy interpretation, disciplinary actions, performance management, and employee misconduct matters.

Data & Trends: Analyze data to identify employee relations “hot spots,” partner with stakeholders to develop action plans, and recommend proactive solutions.

Collaboration: Work closely with HR Partners, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Labor Relations to resolve complex workplace issues.

Support additional ER projects as needed.
Essential Functions

Strong knowledge of employee relations and employment laws (ADA, Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, etc.).

Ability to prepare clear, fact-based recommendations and investigation reports.

Analytical skills to synthesize and interpret data objectively.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Navex EthicsPoint experience is a plus.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Adaptability to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Working Conditions

Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in HR or Employee Relations, with focus on workplace accommodations and internal investigations.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent experience).

Advanced degree or specialized training in Employee/Labor Relations is a plus.

Demonstrated passion for employee relations, investigations, and employment/labor law.
Minimum Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must possess a valid state ID.

Must meet state badging requirements for the cannabis industry (background check and state review required).
Compensation
-
Pay range: $100,000 – $115,000 USD, based on experience, qualifications, and/or location.

Eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program based on company and individual performance.
