Engineer, Network Deployment

Position Overview

Thrive is seeking a Network Deployment Engineer to join our dynamic Deployment team. In this role, you will design, deploy, and secure network infrastructure for new and existing customers. Leveraging industry-leading solutions including Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco, Meraki, Extreme switching, and Ruckus/Meraki wireless, you will optimize customer environments for performance, scalability, and security.

Your work will involve product evaluations, upgrades, network expansion, monitoring, and documentation. As part of Thrive’s high-growth environment, you will follow best practices while also helping refine and improve deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage diverse networking environments across multiple client industries.

• Analyze, document, and optimize unfamiliar network infrastructures.

• Install and activate network solutions, including internet circuits and enterprise devices.

• Troubleshoot complex networking incidents and escalate when needed.

• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and deliver projects on time.

• Perform scheduled deployment activities during maintenance windows.

• Transition deployed networks to the support team with proper documentation.

• Communicate directly with customers about deployment plans, testing, and impacts.

• Deliver projects successfully with strong time management and attention to detail.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• 1–3 years of hands-on networking and firewall experience.

• Strong knowledge of IPv4, VPN, TCP/IP, and Next Generation Firewalls.

• Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Meraki, Cisco, Extreme, and Ruckus products.

• Skilled in Visio for documentation; familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, N-Able) a plus.

• Strong troubleshooting, multitasking, and communication skills.

• Team-oriented, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree, technical degree, or equivalent work experience.

• Fortinet NSE4 certification (or higher) preferred.
