About the Role
Chamberlain University is seeking passionate and experienced Visiting Professors to teach English Composition courses in an online setting. This opportunity is ideal for industry professionals and educators who are dedicated to student success and can foster a dynamic learning environment that promotes critical thinking, effective writing, and scholarly engagement.
Courses include:

ENGL-118N: English Composition – Focuses on essay development, writing process, grammar, and APA formatting.

ENGL-148N: Advanced English Composition – Expands on persuasive and argumentative writing, critical thinking, and scholarly documentation.
Key Responsibilities

Teach and facilitate engaging online classes aligned with Chamberlain’s curriculum standards.

Guide students through the writing process, rhetorical analysis, and academic composition techniques.

Provide constructive feedback and academic support to enhance student learning.

Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and caring learning environment consistent with the Chamberlain Care® philosophy.

Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in English or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in English coursework.

Prior online or higher education teaching experience preferred.

Strong subject matter expertise in English composition and rhetoric.

Excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collegial, diverse academic setting.
